Same here, no change in number BUT...

I had a legitimate number provided by Microsoft. Early copies of Office X had numbers that didn't work at all. If you happened to buy one of those early boxes then......???

At one time, back when Office was introduced, there was a toll free number to call to get a legit number. They then emailed the number as well as providing it verbally. Don't know if they still have that or not.
