Seems that DL hangs when it's given more data than it can handle. Thus, if it opens iPhoto or iTunes fresh and goes straight to the library, it's confronted by hundreds of photos or tunes, turns white, and passes out in the middle of the floor.
The trick is to Already have those programs opened, and especially important, have the album or playlist that you desire already selected. DL will then go to the application you choose and begin in the place you just were. No problems then, except that it is SLOW as molasses. For god's sake, don't ask it to look for a photo in an album that has more than 10-20 pictures in it. You will suffer.
