Why the hype? - Steve Harris

Luhmann should do his research and learn Mac OS X - Notes will work anywhere but only when apps are placed in the Applications folders do the system services work. Apple recommends you place all apps in the Applications folder for Mac OS X to work properly with these apps, not the other way around - this is not Mac OS 9.

Secondly, there are not two kinds of notes, you have editable notes and previews of "attached" files that you may not want Notes to edit, since Notes can't save HTML documents, and doesn't save RTF quite the same way as Word or AppleWorks due to stuff in the underlying Cocoa text handling system.

Why the hype? - ncianca

I'm not sure why Luhmann has given SkinkHunt Notes such a low rating and compares it to a program that isn't even available yet. I keep my copy of Notes in a subfolder of the Applications folder, and everything works just peachy, including services.
