SilverFast Ai only a Scanner Driver? - Karl-H. Zahorsky

You must have totally overlooked the fact that SilverFast Ai is not just a scanner driver. It is a full featured high-end application such as Linocolor was. Think about that LinoColor was several thousand dollar software. SilverFast Ai is production software more powerful than Photoshop with regard to quality and productivity aspects.
Those customers that are making money with their knowledge and their time have bought Linotype scanners because of this. SilverFast Ai (Linotype) helps them to use their productive scanner under OS-X now and offer further support, while Linotype has stopped any support!

Try the SE version... - vrnman

...if you don't need all the other functionality of the Ai version. It works great for me. However, I'm using a Microtek 9600XL. The program leaves the bulb lit
on the scanner, it never shuts off. If LaserSoft Imaging would fix this error, I would have no complaints. It would seem that the program would do a check
to initialize the state of the lamp upon startup. Then upon exit from the SilverFast application, it should send a flag to the scanner to turn off the lamp. There
is another application out there that does this, so I know it is possible.
