VLC plays all my vid' with a annoying purple color..
A developer from VLC team wrote on their own forum, in june 2009, that :
"This is a known issue and will be addressed in future pre-releases of Mac OS X Snow Leopard. This isn't a FFMPEG-related problem (EyeTV shows it, too), but due to the color type used by our OpenGL vout."
Well, we're in november, and nothing new for us...

What about your comment ? Uh..?This was a "commentary" not a report! I'm not the only one to complain about this bug and I wrote here cause I know developers comes here on VT from time to time...
Now, is it alright with you ?
Ok then, so enjoy your VLC and goodnight!

Trash your prefs! - friedchikkin
If this involves OpenGL video output (which is not default!) use a different video output... have you tried trashing the preferences?Monday, November 02 2009 @ 10:10 PM PST

Your "report" is useless: nothing in it will help anyone who shares your problem, so thanks for the meaningless tantrum.VLC is behaving normally (and appropriately) on my 1st-gen MBP under 10.6. VLC is therefore *not* useless - Q.E.D.
