Very ironic that an "application for research and study of God and His Word" is named MacSword, and the icon is a cross morphed into a weapon of war. Very medieval military.

In my opinion, here is the reason for their logo:and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, - (Eph 6:17 ESV)
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. - (Hbr 4:12 ESV)
The logo depicts a two-edged sword. The verses in Ephesians 6 are discussing the spiritual battle we as believers are in everyday. So I do not take their logo as a sign of man's battle instruments. Rather, I see it as God's instrument for us to battle the spiritual darkness of this age.
