Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: 6-12 months

Recommend Product: NO

Slowest to open.
Slowest response for typing - often misses what I have typed.
Buggy, and crashes often for no apparent reason.

The best feature of Word, which was macros has actually been removed, making this worse than Office 2003.

It's hard to imagine anybody writing software this bad without actually trying ... oh ! maybe that was the point.

Possibly THE worst software ever written for OSX - tcwwitt

Maybe for you, but if you're going to deal with a corporate structure that routinely produces very complex MS Word documents, there is nothing else that works. I've tried them all, and in order to stay compatible, I use Word.

Works fine here - DavidRavenMoon

I don't like MS as much as the next Mac user, but I use Entourage, Word and Excel every day. They don't crash for me, and they are pretty quick on my 9 year old G4.

Works fine here - Jason!

Give me a break. I own a G4 Cube, so I know just how slow Office 2008 is. These apps are much slower to launch than Office 2004, not only on my G4 but the time it takes to launch even on my 3.06GHz iMac is surprising. I don't say this to bash MS. I say this to kick their Mac Design team in the pants so they write decent code. If they would learn how to code properly and put an end to bloatware, there software would be like using System 6 on 68k Macs -- wicked fast!
