I just installed the latest version, I had no problem ignoring the upgrade buttons on the final screen of the installer.It's freeware. There's no nagging in use. It's transparent to the user. It just works.
This, plus Perian, is all that a Mac user needs to handle the Windowfied world wide web. Cost to me, for both? Zero.
