I've just gone through one nasty day trying to get Acrobat 9 to print to PDF on Mac OS X 10.6.1. Was using v9.1.3 with little luck. Spent most of the day on the phone with Adobe, Vectorworks (CAD), and Apple. Towards the end of my day of misery, v9.2 appeared as an update and seems much more stable.
Truth is, when you need Acrobat, you need it, and I have to send architectural plot files to print houses who plot from various Windows versions of Acrobat. Using OS X pdf technology with Preview is many times faster, easier, and more reliable on my Mac, but I'm not sure how things would go at the print house, at least for the near term.
Here's hoping for smoother days with Snow Leopard.
