This program screwed up my backups.. You can do the same thing by editing the PLIST. Now my time machine only makes 2 backups per day

Actually you can't do the same by editing the plist.
Because Time Machine will also do additional backups: when disks are mounted, when the computer wakes from sleep, when you connect your laptop to a power source.

Actually I would not mind so much these "additional" backups that Time Machine does - as long as it does not backup every hour during normal work. It is there where it is most disturbing, at least for me. Thus, changing the plist might just be sufficient for many people like me...
