This program screwed up my backups.. You can do the same thing by editing the PLIST. Now my time machine only makes 2 backups per day

Actually I would not mind so much these "additional" backups that Time Machine does - as long as it does not backup every hour during normal work. Actually you can't do the same by editing the plist.Because Time Machine will also do additional backups: when disks are mounted, when the computer wakes from sleep, when you connect your laptop to a power source.
