You can play FLAC natively in iTunes with a tiny bit of work. See this article for instructions:

The only problem with FLAC natively in iTunes is that it doesn't support cover art or lyrics, so I often import FLAC and then use iTunes to convert it to Apple Loseless so that I can add cover art & lyrics.
This program FLAC2Mac may be a good "simple" alternative, but it's not too much trouble to drag & drop the FLAC files into "Set OggS" which takes about 2 seconds literally, and then drag & drop them into iTunes directly.

"..but it's not too much trouble to drag & drop the FLAC files into "Set OggS" which takes about 2 seconds literally.."I did not understand this comment. Is there a simpler software or a process built into iTunes to convert FLAC files?
Please excuse my ignorance.
