Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

FruitMenu is not compatible with Snow Leopard. The Developer does not respond to inquiries.

I sent this message to unsanity@unsanity.com, feedback@unsanity.com, support@unsanity.com on September 4, 2009 with no response:

Hello,

As a long-time Fruitmenu user I really appreciate the years of use I have had with the product.

I, and most certainly many other users, are wondering about the lack of compatibility of Fruitmenu with Snow Leopard and the lack of communication on this issue from Unsanity.

We all have know about the upcoming release for quite some time. Many of us, as developers, also have had extensive Beta access to the OS. It should be no surprise to you that there is an incompatibility. Given this it is very surprising that you have not acknowledged this, commented on this, or provided a statement, that I could find on your web pages, in regards a to potential fix or End of Life for the product. I am surprised that you would risk the reputation of your company.

Please do the necessary and right thing...issue a statement. Tell your community what is going on...for better or worse. Fix it if you can or let us know you can't. Get beyond the chatter developing on the Net; these days inaction leads to negative complaints quickly.

With Highest Regards and High Hopes,

Incompatible with Snow Leopard | Unresponsive Developer - quattleb

Unsanity took months to come to grips with Leopard but they did at least post some info soon after Leopard's release. Now they seem to be completely shut down (or shut up) about SL. I too have emailed and gotten no response. I even gifted extra funds to heal their wounds after they got the Leopard versions working. Yet all they can do on their blog is rant about Apple changing their OS.

I guess they don't spend the $500 a year to be an Apple developer and get pre-releases of the OSes.

By the way - their contact pages says "Note: unfortunately we do not provide phone support for our products" - but this should be updated to NO SUPPORT, IMHO.

Unsanity - the Undevelopers.

Well said. It IS NOT too much to ask if they are actively working on updates for Snow Leopard. If it takes a year or longer, oh well as long as I know it will be coming. At this point however (with their lack of any professional, respectful response about anything to do with Snow Leopard), I will soon be giving up on three of their great products in search of a company that is developing for Snow Leopard! I bid Unsanity a sad adieu.
