I do a great deal of OCR and ReadIris is unfortunately the only game in town for the Intel Mac and now with version 12 they are no longer the game. It just flat out is broken. I cannot rate ease of use because it doesn't work but I imagine if it did work it would be the same as version 11. One hour on the phone with a nice tech sup guy but even he finally gave up trying to get it to work. The ReadIris history is poor at best, version 11 barely worked and version 12 doesn't work at all. I have never had a program that crashed quite like this one. History also tells us that ReadIris probably will take forever to put it back together and even then it will most probably still not work. Still the same odd GUI only they tried to draw it better. A rose by any other GUI is still a rose.

Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid - jeffisme

hey, just to let you know I'm on an Intel Mac and use OmniPage Pro X, which works fine and generally does the job for me, within the usual limitations that ocr programs have.
