VLC has been my go-to app for viewing high-def x264 video in mkv containers, but v1.0.2 has crashed on several files that v1.0.1 opened without incident. Oddly, it *seems* to play some other files more smoothly than previous versions. I'll have to forward the crash log to the developers.

Crashes launching some HD mkv files - jklein

I've got a similar problem. The 64-bit VLC crashes when opening Matroska files. The 32-bit takes a long time to load them, but doesn't crash.

I'm running Snow Leopard with 32-bit kernel. I tried the 64-bit kernel and the results were the same.
