You could donate! Much nicer than complaining - zunipus

This is freeware. It almost never happened for Leopard. When it did happen it was with the help of another developer. IOW, be grateful we've even had AJ for Leopard. The developers owns us nothing.

Idea: You could DONATE to the project! That would be a much better way to encourage the developers. Imagine them having Snow Leopard on the day of release because donations paid for it! Imagine them being able to afford taking time away from their day job because donations paid for it!

All freeware apps are little gifts. Just say thank you. Thank you.

shesh-comments from wiseguys and know it alls are a dime a dozen here
since he doesnt answer mail or announce anything now for a month, would it not make sense to donate WHEN A NEW VERSION COMES out-for all we now know he ditched applejack or we will wait months for it-not a good sign when he announces nothing

Gennx30 - Yes, "I think" you should consider a small donation NOW, as pay-back for the value you already got from prior versions of AppleJack!

"I think" that this developer already trusted you to do the right thing in the past- how hypocritical of you to dis him by suggesting that he might be the same sort of selfish cheat as you appear to be!

"I think" that it's nearly impossible to find a single constructive comment or useful recommendation in any of the hundreds of ragging comments which you've posted here;

"I think" that my pride in being part of the Mac community is diminished by knowing that you've somehow managed to slither under the tent;

"I think" you need take a long walk outside, man; you've been sniffin' too much of your own exhaust...

I have a better idea "Deltagroup" or whoever-
why doesnt he just charge 5-$10 for it and put in up on VT and not hold it hostage?
He implied back in Aug that he should have no problems updating as the code that effected him hadnt really changed; [Just give him 15 spare minutes]
Then he said something that didnt ring true-"But Ive got to get my hands on a copy of SL" (!)-this was a week after it came out. PULLLEEEZE give me a break.
This seems kind of dishonest-and then have friends (perish the thought) post testimonials and admonishments
I saw this happen with MTR;
First it was free 2.66, and out on VT; then 3 was going to be free, then 3 was going to be free but those who pitch in get first crack-I did-via Paypal- then it was DONATE or no MTR 3 for you period; Well, that guy squeezed a year-or two out getting 3 ready until enough people donated i surmise-as he always had some problem-his wife left him, the dog got sick-it was a rainy day-Leo was in Sagitarius etc; So I sat patiently, until giving up- much later I saw that MTR 3 had been released-and I hadnt even been notified!-same email address
Adding insult to injury-the developer made you PROVE you had donated;

It was a pain trying to track down the records, but i did- I didnt have the word MTR or his name/company on my long PP list to search for- I wasnt sure of the date-being paranoid, he had some codeword or shell account which he wasnt going to give out NOW, that he had previously accepted donations thru THEN;
I was on my own
after sending THAT in, and waiting several more weeks;
I email back asking what the hell is up? He said he was "collating" the list (remember Ash to Ripley? "Im....uh...still collating...")
Finally i wrote agian only to be told he had lost the list via crash or something and please resend proof of payment; I wasnt informed
Finally I get MTR 3 r12 in the mail-and guess what-they didnt include a license- it wont work-I wrote twice more and got two more .dmgs of MTR 3, with no license; HAVING HAD IT- I let loose on their site-and FINALLY was sent a license; Still no emails of further betas of 3; I hear he has 4 "on the verge of" coming out; AND it would be FREE to all who originally donated to 3; Gee that was awfully quick/sounds familiar; but I notice every day for 2 weeks its been "any day now" "Had to cut the lawn yesterday""Stubbed my toe"
"had a guest stay I was up too late" "Oops! Turns out that Simpsons season 9 has some weird new trap that must be investigated tested" etc etc etc Ive still recieved no notification that its about to drop-and
Same thing-waiting for "Donations" to reach an acceptable level;
Now I can plainly see where this is headed; Suggesting donations so he "might" be able to 'purchase a copy of SLeopard' or a new 'HD'; I mean really-how crass and transparent you guys are; HINT
Like MTR-nobody is gonna know about it if its locked up out of sight on your site-free or not;
Let it out now charge for it or STRONGLY suggest donations;
But ive seen this game before -AJ 1.6 is quite likely ready and being held 'hostage',
Im sure developer pals or friends would be glad to make a copy of SL and please no "B-b-but that would be against TOS! Im too honest for that!" sure you are; If you were, you wouldnt be so transparently pulling this rather staged plea for the "poor developer" Most can spot it a mile away-the syntax and style of begging
And HDs are practically being given away-just bought a 1Tb for $120
Let him release it and I would gladly pay-$10 for it. Most anyone would (except those that go to MSJ)
But they have to see it exists before they pay for or donate-and when its locked up on SF-very few go there compared to Versiontracker/Macupdate and donation pileups will be slow
Just come clean-belay the "being insulted" bit and GET ON WITH IT
Ive had it with this kind of crap

Oh- in case anyone sniffs-"well MTR is illegal-serves you right"
NO IT IS NOT-the fair use doctrine allows me to make a backup copy of any disc i own. end of discussion
