Stay away from GIMP 2.6.7 for Windows. I attempted to install it in WinXP (Dell Optiplex GX280 w/2GB RAM) from the binary installer, and it froze my computer up so tight I had to do a cold reboot from the power switch. (Couldn't even get a response from the 3-finger salute!) I uninstalled it immediately once I regained control of my computer. Fortunately, I still had the 2.4.5 installer on my HD, and it is working fine (again).
