The Mac version of Adobe's Flash plugin has terrible performance and is usually the culprit when the fans on my MacBook Pro kick in. ClickToFlash acts as a gatekeeper lets you keep Flash embeds at a minimum. Also gives you a very nice whitelisting feature for sIFR font rendering and excellent YouTube options.
