Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

I don't even know what to say i've been using limewire for at least 3 years and i was until recently using version 4.18.2 until it stopped connecting to the network.
Finally today i decided to get the current version and omg is it bad it's like they got a team together to find and hunt down the worst aspects of all downloading software.
Firstly they have the load time that was always not to good but on top of that they have taken out about half the features ad hidden the rest. I'm sorry but if i want to change what files I'm sharing why would i go to the completely unlabelled icon on the top bar instead of preferences where it always has been and is in just about every sharing application that i can think of. Also to add insult to injury they still technically still have it in preferences not as an option or a link to the right place but as a diagram to show you where it is now.
This is of course but one example there are dozens and i wont bore you.

Limewire 5.3.3, zero steps forward 10 steps back - sepdx

With all the negative reviews why is this software always on Top Downloads: Mac OS X downloads? I haven't used it since 2005.

Limewire 5.3.3, zero steps forward 10 steps back - tezz27000

Basically if you want to connect to the Gnutella network on a mac you don't have a whole lot of options. Despite limewires death spiral from B- app to "AHHHHH my face" it's still the best out there, which is sad. the only other notable competitor "Acquisition" which used to have a worse interface and now is a little better but it bugs you C-O-N-S-T-A-N-T-L-Y to register which makes you options either deal with the constant harassment, distraction and interruption or pay (the latter kind of defeating the purpose of the network in the first place). So most people just download limewire but since it has been going down hill people complain hoping either A) limewire will change back to how it was or B) they'll fix up the older versions so they work properly
