I placed as directed and closed off the dmg, but as soon as I do that it turns into a Question Mark. Upon clicking said Question Mark it opens the dmg again. Wonky to say the least. 10.4.11

From the symptoms, it sounds like you dragged the application on the mounted dmg to the toolbar, rather than copying the application to your Applications (or Utilities) folder and then dragging this one to the toolbar.
