I have a G4 1.5 Ghz running 10.5.8 and Quicktime Pro 7.62 just fine. I have tried several times to install 7.64 quick time. It will download and mount the dmg, however when the installer is run it will not go past the disc selection screen. because it cannot find a disc to install it on. However when I lauch the dmg for 7.62 QuickTime then all is well. There is definately a problem here.

Disk Utility - friedchikkin
Try running Apple's Disk Utility- if it finds problems you can either restart from the install disc of Mac OS X and repair it or run the disk utility in Single-User mode (restarting holding down Command-S).Reply to This
