Still not 64-bit -- this app still runs as 32-bit for the GUI application...
Awesome app with great potential, though...

At this point, a 64 bit version wouldn't offer any advantages, but have disadvantages - IOSPIRIT
Thanks for your feedback. In response, I'd like to point out a few things here:
- Remote Buddy is fully compatible with Snow Leopard.
- Remote Buddy already provides drivers for the Snow Leopard 32 and 64 Bit kernels
- Both the 32 and 64 Bit Snow Leopard kernel version are able to run both 32 and 64 Bit binaries.
- The application Remote Buddy is, as you noticed, 32 Bit like pretty much all other third party Mac applications (and even Apple's own iTunes 9) are at this point. This is not a disadvantage of any kind.
- 64 Bit versions of applications make a lot of sense when the application requires more than 4 GBytes of memory. Since Remote Buddy requires only very little memory (typically in the low two digit MByte range), a 64 Bit application binary wouldn't offer any benefits at this point.
- In fact, a 64 Bit version would have disadvantages compared to the 32 Bit version: it would consume more memory and some features could no longer be offered, because Apple doesn't yet offer a 64 Bit equivalent for a few specialized APIs that only few applications are using. For these disadvantages, you wouldn't get any advantages in return.

Felix Schwarz
