MainMenu was free for several years; now it isn't. It was a great little app when it was free and it's just as great now that it's $20.
Santas made it clear that MainMenu wasn't going to be free forever. I don't expect anyone to work for me for free. Nor do I want anyone to work for me for free.
I am grateful to the new developer for buying MainMenu and keeping it in development.

First Impressions Matter - summerstormpictures
A good name, an inspired and well designed "utility" (not software) that put existing functionality under a menubar item was snatched up and a fresh coat of paint was thrown on it.It's one thing for the original owner/developer to decide to finally make some money off their hard work. I don't think that's really being debated by anyone here. However, I don't think the original owner/developer would ever have charged the exorbitant price of $20 for something he used to offer free.
Obviously there is not a whole lot of marketing genius within the new owner's organization.
But hey, if you like throwing around the Andy Jacksons, for a little more, there's this bridge in Brooklyn I could get you a great deal on...
