Still, why put out an app that encourages the uninitiated to mess with something that doesn't really need messing with? And who really wants to go messing around with the kernel unless you really, really know what you're doing?

The program is NOT messing with the kernel (which you would know if you had bothered to read the info on the website) but changes the boot settings.
