Not sure if it works with Leopard, but if you are *not* obsessed with running your *laptop* with its lid *closed* (can't imagine too many situations where that would be *really* advantageous!), Caffeine can keep your computer from going to sleep without changing any settings . . . *no* cluttering of Dock, and only *one* click.
Oh, did I mention you'd save almost 10 dollars over Sleepless because Caffeine is FREE?
I've been using it for years with Tiger and it works flawlessly. No "floating palette" thingy. No problem --- at least not for me. IF all you need is simply something to keep your computer from going to sleep and want "one click" activation/deactivation and do *not* want to spend $9.50, Caffeine is a *solid* option.
Just checked the site. Version 1.1 is for Leopard. 1.0.4 is for Tiger. Both are small (less than 300k) files to download. It just works.
SleepLess
Prevents sleep without changing system settings.
Version: 2.7
Something similar . . . for FREE - rayjay
Yes, Caffeine works fine with both Leopard and Snow Leopard. I agree it seems daft to pay for something when the free alternative is also better.Reply to This
