External SATA Drives - Beatrice1955
Reinstalling the drivers is NOT the answer. They are removed by Apple for good reason to stop kernal panics.Thursday, September 03 2009 @ 06:46 AM PDT

May be you're right, but so far I never had ker.panics. I can always remove them when needed but so far it has worked for me ! ??Thursday, September 03 2009 @ 09:18 AM PDT

I am using the Sonnet E2P card and when I verify with disk utility I get errors under Snow Leopard. If you continue to use these outdated drivers you run the risk of corrupting the data. This would be a disaster.Sonnet have indicated that the drivers will be updated in October but ONLY for the 32 bit kernel. Hopeless.

I'm not using Sonnet. I'm using a card from G-Technology. When I run disk utilities (under Snow Leopard), there are no errors or messages. I don't know Beatrice, may be there'll be problems later on, or may be not, but so far it has worked good for me.Friday, September 04 2009 @ 06:10 AM PDT

Re-install the driver - this works for me. I have two eSATA external drives and now they work perfectly. You'll notice that you have no driver (anymore) in Sys Pref, and once you re-install the SI13132 driver everything is cool.Reply to This
