all is well here, after my previous post (thanks to speedy response from the developer).
my pastor file was opening (as garbled code) with textedit; re-connected it to pastor, and all is well...

this happened right after installing 10.6 FYI.

Same happened to me - i didn't use xRay, I just opened Pastor and used the FILE --> OPEN command, rather than trying to launch from my dock file in the usual way.
