Developer claims in his upgrade email:
Many Interface Improvements such as: The map window position, size, and scale are preserved when using Auto-Open to switch maps across UTM zone boundaries.
That's fine and dandy, but how about fixing window position between quitting and opening of the application? Or when resizing the map window to full screen that the window does not move under the menu bar? Also wouldn't it be nice if the application would remember the settings one checks of under 'View'? Or generally more use of standard Mac OSX keyboard shortcuts.
I really think it's time to fix these problems.

It does. When you have no map window opened, create a new default by changing any of the settings under the View menu, which will apply to all maps. When you have a map displayed, changes to settings under the View menu affect only that map, since you may want different settings from the default depending on what you are doing at the time.

>When resizing the map window to full screen, the window moves under the menu bar
Version 8.5 eliminates the edge of the window frame sliding under the menu bar. Thanks for the suggestion.
>How about fixing window position between quitting and opening of the application?
This is a matter of program design philosophy. Since many users do different things each time they use the program, they require different window placement for different uses. MacGPS Pro is designed to have the windows start with a standard position and size each time the program is run. Windows like the Location window remember their position while the program is running even if the window is closed and reopened. However, if you quit the program and then restart it, the window currently goes back to its default location as you stated. I will look into your idea of giving the user a choice in setting the Preferences to remember the window positions for the next time the program is opened.
