De facto seems using Picasa on a Mac with CrossOver is much less (CPU) trouble than using Picasa for Mac (last tested version 3.0.6)... - but search the Internet archives for Picasa (Win) version 2. After many tests I did on my Mac this works best by far if your main goal is to keep the overview of ALL your images on your Mac.
