What next? 2.9.22? If 3.o ever comes out after all this, my confidence level will be low. They are clearly having trouble with it.

Brass Hammer, I don't understand why you're assuming the worse. No sarcasm intended; I really don't understand. You must know something I don't. Have you contacted the developer? If so, what was their response?

I just find it comical that they raced up to 2.9 and now keep slicing it thinner and thinner. I appears they thought 3.0 was right around the corner, but are now stalling, that is all.

3.0 is definitely coming. I think they said this fall or something.

Hehe, no, 3.0 is not dead. Do you subscribe to the newsletter? I've sent quite a few updates there. I'll be sending another one soon that shows just how well 3.0 is rolling right along. As a sneak peek, you can see the recent post on TUAW exposing a 3.0 easter egg in 2.x:

http://www.tuaw.com/2009/07/31/sneak-peek-1password-3-0/

You can play with that and see just how advanced 3.0 is.

As for the 2.9.22 numbers, I admit they look a little funny. I wanted to bump it to 2.10, but since the trailing zero is normally redundant in numbers, it really looks like 2.1, which is not what we want. I was going to jump to 2.11, but didn't like the idea of missing a number either. You can see how much thought I put into this :)

We never publicly stated a released date for 3.0 and all the speculation is coming from the 2.9.hugenumber version number. I can say with certainty that you will indeed see 2.9.23 and 2.9.24 before you will see 3.0. Even though it causes a lot more work, I feel it is important to keep our 2.x customers happy even while working on 3.0.

Cheers!

They are having no problems at all, Version 3.0 Betas are running smooth. Just be patient... as always, it will be worth the wait. I've already purchased my new license.
