VLC is almost perfect BUT I have discovered that Movist 0.6.4. is perfect and plays HD video without dropping frames. Give it a try!

Versiontracker has not caught up with Movist 0.6.4 yet but it can be found using Google or MacUpdate.

I can't get that Movist to play a video without getting stuck on frames, let alone, skipping.
