I am sorry to say that Jokyo777 below here is correct.
iMovie 6 was far more usable and the incompatibility of iMove 8 with iMove 6 is extremely disappointing. You would think Apple would come out with a converter so your projects in iMovie 6 are not dead. Projects need to be completely redone. What was apple thinking? Not like the Apple I know.

The ease of use of iMovie 6 was great. Got it done quickly.
I am now trying to learn Final Cut Express to recreate all my projects in iMovie 6. But Apple my change that next. We need more flexibility to run these apps in each program like it used it be. Don't close the door on us.

Sorry

Sorry to Say - kikjou

Sorry to say that your rants about iMovie 8 are not very useful. This site is about reviewing the update. If you don't like the way the new iMovie does movie editing, fine with me, but we had this discussion years ago and it is time to close it. I acually like iMovie 8 a lot because it lets me make movies on the fly, while on vacation. And they look good enough for what I need them for. If you want something more professional, there are lots of other tools out there.

The iMovie 8.0.5 update installed fine for me.
