BEWARE. THIS IS AN INSIDIOUS ATTEMPT TO SNEAKILY GET YOU TO UPDATE YOUR 1.0 MAINMENU UTILITY WHICH WAS/IS FREE AND THEN CHARGE YOU $20 TO CHANGE THE NUMBER FROM 1.0 TO 2.0.
THIS IS THE SAME GROUP PROVIDING SLIDEPAD, THE BLATANT RIP-OFF OF THE FREE UTILITY SIDENOTE.
NOT SURE WHAT EXACTLY IS GOING ON HERE BUT THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE ALREADY USING THE FORMER FREE MAINMENU SHOULD JUST KEEP USING IT BECAUSE THERE IS NO REASON TO UPGRADE.
I PERSONALLY AM VERY TURNED OFF BY THIS.

The software creators are not the ones charging $20. A different dev bought it and decided to charge $20 without putting in $20 worth of new features. New icons and force quit are not worth $20 particularly when it takes longer to mouse over to a menu to force quit an app than it does to hit a key command.Monday, July 13 2009 @ 10:05 AM PDT

I don't think you can call it a ripoff since the old developer has always clearly stated that future versions would be shareware. The app has been rewritten and looks quite nice, actually. I wish the cost were a bit lower, like $10, but I think software creators should have a right to make money from their invested time and efforts.Reply to This
