Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

I am using V4 for some time now but I never felt attracted to switch to V5. There was too much emphasis on 3D charts which I find rather useless for a classical 2D data sets (thats what family trees are: 2D!)

I think it was V5.4 where they finally made 2D Charts editable but with the current V5.5 is still not perfect. Its a major challenge when the number of persons increase to distribute all graphical elements over one or several pages and still make everything readable and "pretty". I would hope for some more advanced graphics features:
- in addition to manual layout some auto-aligment/adjustements functions
- there are no graphical templates! When you edit a diagramm it is stored as graphical objects with all reference to the actual data base lost. Thus when you change one detail of information for a certain person you have to start your diagram layout from scratch again!

- more control over the layout of text within a diagram box. Again not as a one shoot manual edit but rather defining templates.
