Upgrade is a step backwards

Feedback Type:  Review

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

I have used Fetch for over 10 years. I bought the upgrade and suddenly it did not use the text editor I have been using and did not allow setting my editor of choice. Fetch insisted I use another editor I had installed, I had to remove it to even try to use Fetch 5.5. After many emails with support I down-graded to 5.3. The preference to select a text editor was removed.

While there might be new features the inability to select a text editor makes it unusable for me.

Upgrade is a step backwards - Jim Matthews

I'm sorry that your experience with Fetch 5.5 was not positive. We've expanded the choice of text editors in this version: where before you could only use editors with special "external editor" support, now you can use any text editor. We'd be happy to help straighten out any upgrade issues -- please contact support if Fetch 5.5 is not working for you.
