The photos in the screenshots on the developer's page are identical to the ones used on the Adeona (http://adeona.cs.washington.edu/) site where they offered a FREE version that did similar things;
It is also important to note that Adeona is presently not working.
So--what is RedHand then? A front-end or hack of Adeona?
This should be disclosed to potential buyers.
RedHand
Lock your desktop, track & photograph intrusion attempts.
Version: 1.3.1
VERY SUSPICIOUS. DISCLOSURE NEEDED. - rpaehlig
Hi! I'm not quite sure what you mean? Which pictures? The screenshots are made by me. In fact the log window shows photos of me. Also, from what I read, adeona seems to be a different beast altogether. RedHand locks your desktop and takes photos of anybody trying to unlock it. Adeona is a service for tracking your laptop in case of theft. So...what is that suspicious moment again?To put it clearly: RedHand has got nothing to do with adeona. It doesn't share any source code with this project. It's not a hack of nor is it a front-end for anything.
