Great software

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: YES

I have an older Microtek ScanMaker 8700. The Microtek software makes scans slow and the file outputs are very big in size. After I got VueScan it became like a new scanner: fast, with much smaller file sizes with the same resolution. And it is very easy to use. Highly recommend, especially, for heavy users.

VueScan is simply amazing!!! - thewickster

just lke the previous person said, ive got an older microtek scanner...but once i installed vuescan its like a brand new scanner!!! i swear to God!

I HIGHLY recommend this app...it does what it says, its very ez 2 use, & makes it completely unnecessary to buy a new scanner!

when an app actually works like it says its supposed, well, theres just no feeling that can describe it...

my hat is off to the makers of vuescan...other app makers/developers should take notice...

thx sooo much!

Great software - saywhatnow99

Pls explain how the scanning software changes the file size.

That seems physically impossible to me.

A 300 dpi scan is a 300 dpi scan, no?

Unless you are speaking of jpeg or some other compression...

Great software - macnerd10

Beats me too. But I do scan in jpeg format. You may be right about the compression mechanism (there are several, which can be seen in Photoshop).
