I've used this on my desktop for years, transferring it from older to newer computers. But this is the first time I've had a laptop that has enough capacity for more than utmost minimalism. With FolderBrander, I can have folders distinct from one another, different colors, legible names, some with icons if I like. The program takes little space, little memory, little CPU. And it makes it easy for me to change my mind about what I want a folder to look like so it will stand out from its peers. I think it's even more necessary on the squeezed screen of a MacBook than it is on the large screen of my desktop Mac.
