This has been done already and to perfection; Sidenote!

Sidenote is a wonderful free app that provides unlimited notes in one very clean and pleasing interface.

Why pay for something that's just ugly?

Why Bother? - ilash

For your information, SpiralBound Pro offers password protection of your notes, a great search function, the ability to export your notes in multiple formats using multiple mail applications, an endless choice of colors for the notes, many more choices for formatting your notes and loads of other features that Sidenote doesn't.

And not all of us like our notes "hidden away" in a drawer. The whole point of a note is to act as a reminder of something that we need to do or information that we need to file. Stuffing everything into a drawer is just another form of disorganization.

And the notes produced by SpiralBound have a very small footprint, and are quite attractive, to my way of thinking. Life is about choice, and to knock this application just because it doesn't perform the same way as one of your favorite applications is unfair. There are many of us who actually like the basic Stickies format but crave a way to better organize and locate the information contained in Stickies. This application delivers on all counts.

Why Bother? - RootRouter

I used sidenote before and it is a good little app. For a while it was my sticikes replacement but I found it frustrating intrusive as the window it had a tendency to pop up unexpected and unwanted when I was using another app. Similarly, while you are using sidenote I found that the window would often zip off screen unexpected. I'm sure it is a good solution for some but I actually reverted to using regular stickies, before I found spiral bound...
