Microsoft Office 2008 update 12.1.9 does not install

Feedback Type:  Troubleshooting Report

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

The Automatic Updater found the available updates and downloaded them. The update installation failed because "the required software version was not found". I have e-mailed Microsoft Support a complete report (I had still two free support e-mail requests, because I had never used any till now),
There is something untoward: the current version (in my system) is 12.1.7, whereas the available update is 12.1.9. Sounds like there should be 12.1.8 somewhere?
Microsoft...
I am not overly worried. Version 12.1.7 is running satisfactorily (somehow) and I have always Open Office and NeoOffice (always updated without problems) to use instead.
System Info:MacBook Intel While 2GHz, MacBook Unibody Late 2008 2GHz, PowerBook G4, all running 10.5.7,

Microsoft Office 2008 update 12.1.9 does not install - andrew.hendrickson

I've tried the update via the Microsoft Autoupdater on two different iMacs running 10.5.7 and 10.4.11. It just repeatedly downloads the updater but never installs it, finally telling me that there are no updates to install, but all Office apps still saying that they are version 12.1.7

I'll try downloading and installing via Versiontracker, but at least for the machines I've tried to update, the Autoupdater doesn't work.

Microsoft Office 2008 update 12.1.9 does not install - hschulsinger

Was able to successfully update version 12.1.5 to 12.1.9 on an iMac G5. This was unexpected because previous updates to Office 2004 and 2008 required the most recent versions of each Office suite. I'm guessing that Microsoft, emulating Apple, is now releasing "Combo" updaters for its Office products.
