Since I applied the update last night, my iMac will no longer remain in Sleep Mode. When I set it to Sleep, it wakes itself up about 10 seconds later.
I used the 10.5.7 Combo Updater downloaded from Apple's website, because Software Update was having trouble verifying that the data it was downloading was coming from a reliable Apple source. The update process included one incident, where after applying the update and restarting the computer did not fully boot. I waited 20 minutes through an unchanging blue screen, then did a manual shutdown and startup, after which the update completed installing (the computer rebooted itself twice) and, except for this sleep issue, everything seems fine.
Apple Mac OS X
Snow Leopard operating system.

I seem to be having the opposite problem with OS 10.5.7. My iMac G5 PPC has reverted to deep sleep mode where I have to tap the power button to wake it up. Just hitting a key and moving the mouse doesn't do it anymore. Not a big deal but an annoyance. Luckily no other problems experienced so far.Friday, May 15 2009 @ 07:28 AM PDT

I had run Disk Utility to repair permissions both before and after applying the update. And I just tried resetting the PRAM - no effect, the computer is still waking itself up about 10 seconds after being put to sleep.Reply to This
