How about BRINGING BACK 10.4 Support! There are many viable G4s and G3s that do not run 10.5 well...

BRING BACK 10.4 Support! - timtatwork

At a certain point you have to upgrade your hardware to use the newest software. That is the case and always will be the case regardless of what platform you are on. There is no rule that says you have to be using the latest version. Use the latest version that works well on your system.

BRING BACK 10.4 Support! - Tim Haigh

Previous versions of transmission work in 10.4.

Your argument is like saying to Apple please support my G4 when they release an intel only OS. Software moves on hardware stays behind.

I have reservations that any features in Transmission 1.6.x is not possible on Mac OS X 10.4, plenty of other applications offer backward compatibility...

Do you really expect a developer to continue supporting old versions of an OS? I mean where should support stop? 10.3? 10.2? 10.1? 10.0? Public Beta? DPs? Apple makes changes between big revisions of Mac OS X. 10.5 isn't necessarily "Backwards compatible" with 10.4.
