I have three Macs (all with iClock V3.05) ... one online all the time (10.5), one laptop I use once or twice a week (10.4) and an older laptop (insurance) I haven't used in 6+ months ... all with the same version of iClock. My desktop started giving me an error message about a week ago ... iClock simply isn't working. So, I fired up the 10.4 laptop ... worked fine (until I logged on the net ...and the very next time I fired it up I got the same message as the Desktop (and iClock stopped working) ... so, just for fun I tried the older laptop, started it up ... iClock ran. Shut it down and started it up, iClock ran. Hooked up to the net, shut down, fired it up and iClock failed (same error message).. Guess what? The developer figured out a way to crap out the older version .. in hopes of selling me (and a whole lot of other folks) the new version ... FAT CHANCE. This is criminal ...and this product should be BANNED from versiontracker ...

Same deal here. Couldn't believe the dev would think they'd get away with this. Have used iClock for years. It's now dead and gone. Incredibly dishonest maneuver. Get this crooked outfit off VT.Sunday, May 10 2009 @ 03:13 PM PDT

OK, I accept the dev's explanation and withdraw my rant with guarded, but still somewhat annoyed, apologies.Sunday, May 10 2009 @ 03:34 PM PDT

I just turn off check for updates and my version 3.05 works fine. I was getting all of the "Not XML File" errors, as well.Monday, May 11 2009 @ 03:53 AM PDT

actually, we use a link from our site to do the check for updates (sparkle). we have a php developer who was updating the app casts, pcpad and other links from our site to other sites and to our software. in the cleaning he removed code that was very old but was integrated in the old iclock. that will be fixed this week.you can't imagine the complexity of all the interrelations of software, os, web, etc. anyway we try our best. turn off the check for updates in the old version and we will have a fix shortly.
thanks for the feedback.
