Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: 1-6 months

Recommend Product: NO

in my opinion Things is a much to much overvalued piece if software.
some say the userinterface is so easy, smart and nice: ?!?!? hmmmm - its a qustion of the taste, i thought the functionality is more important, and here Things is poor: A simple list of project with actions. Aha.... Its not possible to add sub projects. So, its gettings too fast overloaded, if a project has more or less subprojects - great user interface, really ;-). The price is too high for this niveau, so I choosed Omnifocus, cost more, but very good synching with iPod touch/iPhone, and more important functions to follow the actual status of projects.
i dont understand the developers, too. They kicked out the forum on their user webpage!??! And less communication between the users and them ( i dont know why, why it goes too much in direction apple) - example? Whats new in 1.1.1? Nothing written here, or on their webpage... :-(..

Overvalued Software - rob37

Things is one of the most used applications on my Mac. It's a great program. Maybe if I had lots of sub-projects I'd try something else, but for me it is tremendous value and works well. Interface needs a little more automation which =has been promised in a future release. Maybe that's improved in 1.1.1, but otherwise it was well worth the low price.

Cultured Code does not communicate well - davebarnes

I like Things and find it useful.
I think the price is fair.

Where Cultured Code is blowing it is in communicating (or not) with their customers.
1. They removed the link to the forum so only those who have it bookmarked can find it. http://culturedcode.com/things/forums/
2. They have not posted on their blog for over 3 months. Most recent post was 02FEB2009.
3. Things is at version 1.1.1 and yet the Release Notes pages says: Version 1.0.4.
4. One of the forum moderators (TravisLL) has decided that criticizing CC is not allowed.
5. They don't respond to emails sent to Support.

If I were rating Things, I would give the product 4 stars and support 0 stars.
