We are professional Mac consultants who have 17 years of experience of Mac consulting and troubleshooting with over 150 clients. This new version of Retrospect, version 8 (and the subsequent update, 8.0.608.1), are ABSOLUTELY NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME YET. The program is a nightmare. There are TONS OF BUGS and problems in this software, and as a result -- YOU WILL NOT BE RELIABLY BACKING UP YOUR MACS! If you take backups seriously, DO NOT INSTALL RETROSPECT 8 until perhaps 2010 or 2011, when EMC Insignia has worked out all the bugs in this product. EMC Insignia has basically released an alpha version of this product onto the world and labeled it as "commercial software". Do NOT be EMC Insignia's guinea pig, like we were at one of our client's location. AVOID. WAIT UNTIL 2010 or 2011 when EMC Insignia has worked out all the bugs in this product.
