Launched this app and practically quit it immediately. The interface is awful and considering the great other options such as CyberDuck and alike a saw no reason to battle through this ugly up to try and work it out.

I've the same problem. Filezilla never launch with this version or older versions.I don't think is a computer problem.
I think Filzilla is not compatible with some plug or others installed by another app.

Sounds like a problem with your system - I've installed this across 3 studios here (around 40-50 desktops) without issue.It won't win any beauty competitions, and sure Cyberduck looks nicer, but there really aren't many other great options if you're looking for 'free'.
In my experience Filezilla is both faster AND more reliable than Cyberduck.
