Don't spend money on software which can't be developed for PowerPC at this age. Especially of this nature.
Things will change when Snow Leopard is out and we will see "snow leopard only", "intel 64 bit only" software, it is a fact of technical nature but for today, there is no reason rather than incompetence and not knowing the mac scene to release a codec/player Intel only. There is nothing that forces you to release Intel only software even if you make the application Leopard-only.
Of course, if you are in such bad shape and can't even hire couple of PPC capable developers...

You demand PPC version of FREE software - anothersphere
Oh dear, if you are in such bad shape you cant afford an Intel mac then dont b*tch that the developer sucks for not hiring PPC developers to make you a release of this FREE software for PPC.Even a dumb ars3 would know that developing a very very codex dependent application is pretty cpu/chipset dependent.
Presumably the latest INTEL version really only offers INTEL benefits so wrapping up PPC code into the release is unlikely to EVER offer benefits over the last released PPC version.
End of rant.

Buying Intel Xeon workstation for DivX - Ilgaz
Well, if you speak about money, I actually use 3ivx MPEG4 plus on my Macs and I won't touch any of this previous spyware distributors codec even while it is FREE.Thursday, September 03 2009 @ 02:30 PM PDT

You're kidding right? It says clearly at the top of the page that this is FREE software, so why are you warning us away from spending our money on it???Reply to This
