Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

I NEED an OCR program that works with OS 10.5 on my intel iMac. I wish I had stopped in here before I wasted nearly $200 on this software. IT WILL NOT OPERATE MY SCANNER!. Even though the scanner, an Epson 2450, is well adapted to Twain, and works fine with other programs, the IRIS 'we work with Twain' statement is just BS. The scanner does not show up on the Readiris Preferences panel no matter what I do or how many times I reboot, reload, and/or cry havoc. I have waited for several days for a response to my emailed request for assistance. NOTHING! Wait until they fix this.

Not ready for prime time - JDBishop5

I finally got this reply. I had already done it without any result. Readiris displays the 'Open In Rosetta' box grayed out and useless.

Could you follow the procedure below:

1. Could you verify the content of this folder

HD => Library => Image capture => Twain data source => *.ds

If you see your scanner model .ds, you can go to step 2
If there is no driver > than you will ahve to install it
2.Verify the driver architecture?

· Go to Application folder > launch Image capture

· Device menu > browse

· Select your scanner model

· If your scanner model is on PowerPC architecture, you will have to open Readiris using Rosetta

o Go to Application folder > Readiris folder

o Right click on Readiris 11 application and select get info

o Tick the box : Open With Rosetta

o Close this windows and launch Readiris

FINALLY! - JDBishop5

It works. One should not have to pry this out of the support people.

You will have to delete the Readiris Preferences

HD => Users => name of users => Library => Preferences => Readiris Prefs

After that you will be able to tick the box.
