"Upgrade to TechTool Pro 5 from any prior version of TechTool Pro or Drive 10. ***Requires prior Drive 10 or TechTool Pro v2, v3 or v4 serial number when ordering."

If you carefully read the description on Micromat's site (above), you'll see that you need NO MORE THAN a version 4 serial number. Logically, this "should" mean if you wish to upgrade from version (2, 3,) 4 to version 5(.0.4)...

Been there, done that!

I most assuredly have version 5 and I even paid to upgrade to it!

So, why is there no mention of an "update" to version 5??? I already have an e-drive set up with my version 5 on it! It would be a simple "update" to do. So, Micromat, why should I purchase an already purchased upgrade when I do not need a startup DVD?

Where's the file to download to (only) update my version 5 files to the most current version, 5.0.4???

To put it another way, version 5 is dated 1/31/2009 (on VT) and version 5.0.4 is dated 4/19/2009 (on VT) which is 79 days apart. 79 days divided by the cost of 5.0.4, $59, plus $7(?) s&h, and including the original upgrade cost of another $59 & $7(?), total $132, comes frighteningly close to an annualized cost of about...

$610.00.
