On December 9, 2008, I signed up for the $5/mo service and downloaded BackBlaze to my iMac.
Two (2) days later, I UNinstalled it and canceled the service.
Then, after communicating with tech support, I tried again for another few days.

I still think it is not ready for prime time and may never be.

Why?

Backblaze stops running when my iMac sleeps. I have the usual energy save settings (that is, my iMac sleeps at night and whenever left alone for 15 minutes) and Bb stops uploading. Bb needs to recognize that sleep does not mean stop uploading. And, when SuperDuper! completes its backup, it puts the computer to sleep and that means no backup progress for Bb.

My system clock is set to 24-hour time and yet Backblaze tells me the time in a 12-hour AM/PM format. Why doesn't it use the system settings?

If I pause Backblaze it tells me that it will restart within 2 hours/ Why don't I get to control when it restarts its upload?

There is no progress indicator. I would like something that tells me the KB/s rate of upload.

Backblaze is not well behaved.
a. It completely stops Transmission from both downloading and uploading whenever the Bb setting is greater than +1 after the mid-point default setting.
b. It slows down Dreamweaver to the point on unusability.
c. It slows down Firefox so that it is noticeable.
d. It slows down Eudora's email checking.
This forces me keeping changing the throttle settings for Bb depending upon the time of day.

The best [theoretical] backup speed that I can achieve is 7GBytes/day (800 kbps for 24 hours/day). Is this enough? With over 100GBytes to backup, I don't think so as the actual best I was able to achieve during my 5 days of testing was about 4-5GB/day.

SuperDuper! Steps all over Backblaze.
When running SD, Bb speed drops to 17Kbytes/sec. Why? SD is not transmitting over the interent.

Backblaze is a *censored* to remove from your machine. I found a Bb process running on my iMac 4 months after I thought I had removed it. I had to dig really deep to finally kill it. Very annoying.
