Feedback Type:  Review

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

I installed the update. Now when I try to launch any Microsoft Office application, it crashes immediately.

It appears to be a missing library.

DO NOT INSTALL! Broke my copy of Word - deemery

More on this piece of strong fertilizer: I ran 'remove office', installed fresh from the CD, and now -no updates- are being installed.

I also tried running Microsoft Update from within MS Word, and it went into a loop, where it would download the update, try to install. Installer would immediate terminate (no error). Lather, rinse, repeat.

It appears that the 'remove office' cow pie fails to remove the package receipts for updates.

Maybe I'll call Microsoft tomorrow and see if their tech support geniuses can repair this.

HOW I FIXED my broken install - deemery

1. Used "remove office" to get rid of it
2. THEN did
cd /library/receipts
sudo rm -rf Office2008*
3. Reinstalled from the CD
4. Let Windows Auto-update run
